What do y’all prefer? Saw a baseball video discussing angles of decent in front toss being way steeper when standing causing players to develop a pattern for swinging under the ball. I’ve always thought coaches were lazy if they sat. Thoughts?

I believe quality front toss is really important. In general, I do not believe players see enough ball coming at them at paths and angles that mimick real pitches. I like Jugs machines in the mix at a good middle speed for the age bracket. Do not like the TCB weighted balls (they fall too quickly creating a chase the ball, swing down path). Regarding your question - I don't think the coaches are lazy. They may not know how to get it there standing up.

I do both..it is easier for me to try and see what is going on with DD's swing when I am sitting down. Come to think of it..I should probably just stand up every time and save myself some headaches.

I thought this was a good question and we have nothing?

Personally I got a net to hide behind sitting on bucket to throw to DD. Never really thought about pitch trechetery. Fair question and I do not know. Does it matter?

Glad I could help.

See the pitch from where it is released in games,
Visually better training!

At minimum sitting on a bucket tossing underhand is nearer correct.

Seeing the ball come out of the hand is part of hitting.
That said,
Find it important to be nearest accurate.

(I dont do windmill, just sling toss)
Still can add during workouts
'arm pitch movements on release'
to alter spin and give an extra visual.
And mix in throwing to different locations.
Drop~ over top
Rise~ pull up
Curve~ cross over
+ weird change up flics & knucklers :)

It can expose how hitters can react differently to arm movements also locations.
* 2 seperate visuals!

Matching the trajectory is key. You have choices, sitting-standing and overhand-underhand. Other factors are accuracy and distance from the hitter. I usually prefer overhand, sitting.
