for 12 U ball, What should I have my pitchers do when the other teams' batters are hitting my their fastballs other than throw a faster fastball?! LOL
My pitchers cannot throw anything but fastballs at this time, we are working on change ups etc.
Does it make sense for my pitchers to throw slower to the batters like an Arc pitch? I'm wondering if the other teams' batters are using the speed of our fastballs to their advantage....

Well throwing slower is a change-up, right? ;)

I never have any pitcher throw their fastball slower. That's a recipe for bad mechanics.

In your case, work hard on the change-up. Daily work from your pitchers. It won't take long. In the meantime, try to hit corners with your fastballs. Work with your defense to get outs.

It's tough, we know. :(

Do not need to throw every pitch in the strike zone.
Use locations 2 softballs outside of the strike zone also.
Gets batters thinking.

Thanks! I agree with you on the mechanics!
I meant throw slower as in an Arc pitch.
I have seen some opposing teams who have poorly developed pitchers throw in a somewhat slow arc and it throws off our batters who will not hit it as far as them hitting a typical fastball.
They are already working with a pitching coach to develop other pitches.
I work with my DD on hitting corners when we practice pitching on off days.

Thanks for the suggestions!
They are already working on the change up, just not ready for games yet!

Drew up above is right, don't want your pitchers to slow their arm down! And RAD is also right, starting throwing that CU today, even if it's not effective, start throwing it in your next games just so the hitters have it in their minds and know it's there.

If a fastball is all they have, better be able to spot up and locate, stay off the plate, work the black, stay a ball or more off the plate both inside & outside, make sure the catcher is working hard to help your pitchers out!

Do your pitchers have their own personal pitching coach?

I'm assuming if your pitchers don't really have a changeup or other pitches they also aren't great at hitting spots. If they can locate, work the corners or better yet the river, up and down. If you throw a good hitter strikes they will hit them. Keep working on the changeup. That's the pitch that scares good hitters.
