So this is the brand new one? Should I take this opportunity to rehash my absolute hate for new OEM glove lace again? It’s terrible, especially dyed light colors like yours.

This is new? What did you beat it with? The whole inside of the mitt is black?

Would you recommend getting the whole thing re-laced with new, un-dyed laces?

I'm old school Jack, I love great quality, sturdy TAN lace in EVERYTHING! And I think tan would work with your color combination, but so would black. Tan and black all I'll ever recommend.

I hate to tell you to completely re-lace a brand new glove.....but I've done it more than once myself, so.....

I get pretty stupid over sorry lace, it's a problem of mine!

It’s grey to begin with and it’s far from being black. We used a ball on a stick.

Just curious are to why then padding was so dark inside on a new glove. If it's new I would sent it back for another

There's no such thing as undyed or uncolored leather in finished goods or lacing. It's either dyed darker or painted lighter. Nothing is stronger or weaker. Dyed leather will hold it's color because it's through and through. The only undyed leather is rawhide like dog treats. It's uneven in color and stripped

It’s dark because it was dark to start with. Look at the picture I posted in this thread when it was new. It’s a tiny bit darker because she has played two games and caught a bunch of pitching lessons with it.

10-4. Makes better sense now. I didn't see the original pic.

So teach me this, or correct me if I’m wrong, love leaning about these processes.

Good ole old school tan lace, like Tanners for example is Alum tanned.....and colored lace, like the rest of the glove is chrome tanned, right?

You say neither process is stronger or weaker than the other, right? I just know that every glove I’ve either owned or worked on with camel, white, red, or blue lace, it was always stretched to the point I felt I could almost break it with my hands.

Even a side by side comparison between brand new colored lace and tan lace that’s the exact same size, the tan lace is ALWAYS stiffer and more sturdy!

First off am I correct about colored lace being chrome tanned, if so does the chrome tanning chemical process make those colored laces more soft and pliable? And I assume that process helps the lace more easily take the colored dye?

Thanks, appreciate any info!
