The first one looked like it was between drop and spiral. The second one was drop spin or very close.

I like your whip the fingers cue on the rise. DD has had some recent improvement gripping a little past the narrows on the two seams where they start to widen. Just need to add a little more speed.

As Ken said. Somewhat bullet on the first and drop action on the second.
On second Watch her finish. You can see she pulls up on the ball at release. That’s more of a peel drop release from a HE pitcher. My dd did that very well before switching to IR. the drop release using IR is different. More of a rip off the seams as the hand pronates. You’ll get there.

Thanks, yes she wasn't doing either on purpose, but there were a few from that one game on video that just seemed to drop.

So the spiral on the 1st pitch is fine for now, but eventually you want to get it to that of the second pitch, just in a different manner?

I think so. The semi-spiral is a classic fastball and eventually will be useful in contrast to the drop and change. Later on, she might swap out a rise for the fastball for even more contrast.

Thanks Ken, do you have any cues for change-upS to get the fingers on the outside of the ball? We’re trying to do the Pauly change, or at least the beginning of it, but my DD’s fingers are always on the inside of the ball, leafing with the pinkie., instead of the outside.

Ken is right on. My dd , now 16u, has a more spirally fastball. “She never uses it. Comes in too straight. It will get crushed.
She learned an amazing rise over the past year that she uses as more of a fastball. I would say she throws it as hard which is mind boggling. Then mixes in drop and change. It’s very very effective.
Anyway, your dd will eventually learn the proper way to throw the drop. For now her fb is fine. Get her to brush better and pronate harder and the drop will be natural.
On the other hand the rise is a beast and needs to be practiced. A LOT.

Get her to move the fingers to the outside early in the down swing. Almost crooked arm and push it down. It won’t look that way but will feel different and will help getting into the correct position.
