I think for me significantly better is having the legs stay in place. Everything just moves around so much. I don't know how much shin protection is actually used in ball strike protection, if it is a layer of hard material and doesn't move I'd say that is a huge improvement in mobility.

And awesome that the FP legs are $10 more expensive!

What legs is your DD currently using? My DD's All-Stars seem to stay in place pretty well. The Schutts she had in 10U did not.

Wilson ProMotion. They stay ok up on the knee cap, but the shins / foot guard are janky and always out of place.

we had promotion legs before this season (she has skinny legs) and they were always sideways. They were as tight as you could get them and it never mattered. Tried the new Mizuno with the foot strap this summer and they have been awesome! They do not shift AT ALL. And the strap has held up just fine (talking about a girl who ripped a metal cleat out of the bottom of her shoe this summer so she's definitely rough on them).

I couldn't imagine spending big dollar on custom molded on a kid that's still growing...Talk about having money to burn.

Ha, fitting revival of a thread.. Anyway, I purchased the evoshield PRO-SRZ legs and chest protector for DD, our ORG gets a discount so the sting was more manageable. The fit and finish, attention to detail, and overall looks are top notch. However, you'd expect that due to the very top end price.

Anyway, on to the review. First, it's ambiguous in their advertisements regarding the NOCSAE commotio cordis chest guard. NOCSAE certs are only applicable to Baseball and Lacrosse, not fastpitch. The chest protector has the velcro mounting tabs for the guard, the manual even says mount the guard using the tabs, but since this is a FP version no guard is included. Does not have the NOCSAE stamp either. I'd think that if your going to mount the tabs and charge just over an arm and a leg for the protectors, you might as well throw in the NOCSAE piece, just cuz.

The chest is very light, airy, and squishy, completely similar to the Wilson ProMotion stuff. The magnetic buckle is legit. I'm not sure that it is better than the clips, but it is super easy to attach and will not come apart. The adjustability is good and all of the straps come together in a nice part of the back, as you would expect.

The feature that I've not seen before is the moldable wire at the bottom. The wire does act to keep the very bottom of the protector wrapped and snug to the body, DD likes it.

The description of the chest protectors say that it has a female specific cut. In comparison, it looks like the only difference is in the collar bone area width and the bottom cut (FP is thinner collarbone and rounder bottom cut, baseball is wider and flatter on the bottom). If you are looking at getting this, maybe save $20 and get the baseball version with the NOCSAE guard and cert.

PRO-SRZ legs... These are NICE. The moldable bottoms keep the legs tidy and in place. The moldable gel to shell is not the protection from shin strikes, there is always the plastic guard on the front of the shins. Regarding patella support, the pad looks and feels well thought out and completely adjustable in terms of location. The moldable shins velcro to the knees exactly where you need them to go, this is probably the best feature of the kit.

She's only used them once in a catching clinic, but initial impression is very favorable. Just my $.02 (and $$$ purchase price)

So what size chest protector did you get? They only offer two sizes right? My daughter uses a 13” Schutt at the moment and it fits well. She’s tall but it’s mostly in her legs. I’m thinking about upgrading the chest this season. It looks like it adjusts very well for a snug fit.

Sorry for the late reply... If you tag my name or reply to the post, I'll get a notification. Anyway, I got the 15" size. It is a large 15", good coverage. My DD is 5'7" ~145lbs. The smaller size would've worked too.

Gotcha, thanks. My kid is 5’8 about 130 lbs. Five of the 5’8 is her legs!!! I‘m wondering if I should go with the small. I’m sold on the chest protector though. I’m sure it will be nice.
