EvoShield officially released their new line of catchers gear. $750 for a set that will fit my 11 yr old. Seems like an extremely steep price tag considering I can get 2 sets of the All-Star AFX gear for that price.

Anyways, if anyone else was awaiting the release, it's out. Dig down deep in those pockets.

They are definitely nice but that price is a bit ridiculous. I'll be interested to see how many evoshield warriors we see this year.

at 12U and down better DP/Flex the Catcher and have her leave em on, because I don't even think a courtesy runner is gonna give you enough time to change...

From what I'm seeing, once the lowers are molded, and the entire assembly is put together, they go on and off like any other legs, with the exception of the toe strap thing. That said, I don't see that toe strap lasting very long.

I like the idea of being able to custom shape and size the legs. I'm interested to see these in person.

I would like to see a set as well. I'm sure they are very nice and well thought out. I can't personally justify that kind of money for MY kid. Maybe when she's in high school and the price has come down a bit.

It seems most Evo gear is over priced. Especially their elbow and ankle/foot guards.
I just upgraded DD’s catching gear from Easton Prowess to UA Converge Pro. From what I can tell it’s equivalent to Allstar S7 gear.
Paid $20 for brand new leg guards with gel knee padding, $30 for brand new chest protector, but I had to pay-up for the helmet as her size was hard to come by $130. $180 for a quality set it pretty damn good IMO.

That’s a great deal. I’ve been waiting on ordering a set of All-Star AFX gear until the EvoShield came out. That price tag sealed the deal for me.

With that said, any All-Star reps or distributors on this forum before I order online?
@Eric F Do you know of anyone?

Not that I'm aware of.

I’m not a physics guru, a Ph.D., or a metallurgist ... just a crash test dummy that has taken plenty of shots.

I would not want a lower leg guard that is molded and form fit against my shin.
