Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle both lead the league in SO's 5 times...

hardly the same thing. Judge K ratio is 1 out of 3. The other 2 are not even 1 out of 5. and their approach was much different, they were free swingers.. real Sluggers; while Judge said he’s just trying to make contact. He’s just huge. TM was right when he said ‘ he didn’t teach Judge power’. That is god given for Judge. He taught him how to sell out on pitches early thus creating more Ks than anyone in history.

Why does Judge have the contact hitters approach but strikes out more than any free swinging slugger in history?

I've said this before, take a gander at Judges K numbers before he ever met TM...All you can really say is that TM didn't help him strikeout less..

He was around 20%-25% before. His HR numbers were the same as well. Had a lot of pop. So what did TM actually help him with then? TM claims he made his swing ‘efficient’... so efficient that he leads the league in strikeouts by far? That’s not very efficient now is it?

Edit: he did help him with his HR derby swing. I’ll give credit where it’s due.

All I am saying is that you cannot claim that what TM taught him caused him to strikeout a bunch..he did that already.

Based on the last few posts.. AJ struck a bunch before and after he adopted TM’s swing.. most certainly not the result I would be striving for. Curious what TMs definition of efficient is...

I believe LQ is what he calls it.. ‘Launch quickness’. Most instructors are after ‘time to contact’, with a ‘soft’ entry. These aren’t the same in my mind. I don’t think ‘LQ’ is a metric amongst MLB clubs Could be wrong. Not sure. I don’t see the benefit of measuring ‘LQ’. Probably detrimental.

Agreed. According to TM(Frye interview) he is working on a gadget to record LQ.. apparently it's a new thing, so I seriously doubt LQ is/was a metric being used by anybody.
