Bolded above. Yes, we have been saying that for some time now.
You've been saying it but you've been discounting it,
The rear hip extends fully and then the rear foot gets dragged.
The hip extensor and rotator muscles are used. The rotator muscles initially turn the pelvis and then reorient the leg so the knee is aligned with the 90° application of extension force to the pelvis. Innate efficiency.

But the guy says the leg should be peeled.

This guy does similar to Barry. Not seeing any peel.

I believe it is a que to stop the rear leg as a driver and allow the middle to be a driver....... Again nothing happens until the middle launches. The leg is having zero impact on the bat...... do you agree?

There's some peel There! I just think its interesting that bonds and rendon seem to do the opposite almost.
Bonds just seems to sink into the ground to me... and then we a similar movement. IDK, could be wrong. Can somebody explain Bonds back leg vs what's being demoed? Why doesn't it look like Bonds back foot is dragged through?

FTR, I am a firm believer in what's being demoed..

No one is disputing the hip extends before the rear foot gets dragged.

The main point is that the rear leg is not pushing to create hip extension. The obliques are pulling the pelvis away from the resisting rear leg. The hip gets extended from the middle. Then the rear leg snaps down and in. Hip joint goes from closed to open to closed.

Bonds is the ultimate wood chopper. Best sagittal action in the business. Very little linear movement to the pitcher.

I agree you anchor the back foot.. but it's the way that Bonds rear leg goes down and in that muddies the water a little for me
Think of a lunge. Barry really lowers his stance/backside to get his down to swing plane aligned to the ball path. To get rear hip extension, he must bend the knee. Notice how he's still on the ball of the rear foot until the hip becomes fully extended and reached its rearward ROM limit.
Whatda think?

Ya I think they are both just kind of pre-positioning it.

It's an interesting move no doubt.

RHE could be passive in some swings. But it could be used to create rotation. Rear leg doesn't create hip extension. Hip extension is created by the hip extensor muscles. Glute/ham.

If the obliques pull the pelvis where are they anchored?
