If your DD is an uncommitted 21 or 22 you need to get a YouTube channel set up and a camera for live streams for this summer.
A number of the tournaments are live streaming the games using the athletes go live platform. For any tournaments that don't Dd's team will be livestreaming.

I am somewhat skeptical about the ability for college coaches to evaluate players by watching a live stream. I think they will fall back on the evaluations they have already made on the players they know and rely on the opinions of coaches they trust. So the kids who got a later start on the recruiting trail will be impacted the most IMO.

I would definitely create a YouTube channel. Live stream and post skills/highlight videos there. It is pretty simple using just an iPhone and iMovie. DD's constantly updated channel got her a lot of looks. She had narrowed her list down and was getting invites for visits so that helped but every time she emailed updates to coaches her views would jump. I think it made it easy for them to get good video of her from different angles all in one place.

Each week she sent out a video from the weekends showcase. She kept a running video and added each week so there were all in one place. If she added a caption she was 8-14 with 2 doubles and a HR they could see the quality of pitching she was facing. She did another of highlights from 7th grade through the fall of her junior year. I liked it because it showed her developement through the past few years.

One other thing. 21' and 22's need to really think about DI goals right now. DD plays with several that had none of this happened that would have definitely signed DI. Now? It's hard to tell. The 21 &22 classes are going into school with an expanded roster due to everyone getting a year back. Now there will be five classes of recruits trying to fill 12 scholarships on each team. Do coaches cut back on one of those years to create space? DD chose a top JUCO over a DI offer. Looking back it probably was the absolute best decision she could have made not knowing what was coming. She will get alittle time for things to shake out before moving one.

'21 and '22 - well it will make Winter more important... LIke normal students. There is still SOME time.

However, the '20 class has been totally killed through all these changes. School starts in a few months (maybe?).

Some obviously should have started earlier, however, there is a number where it wasn't in their control. There are girls who decided late that they might want to play in college, Girls coming off an injury. Some that academically didn't get into the school they wanted. Some told they no longer have a roster spot because of a new coach. Some that realized the school wasn't for them... and so on. That is all pretty much gone for all of them.

Also coaching turnover hasn't stopped. Many athletic dept's have furloughed until school starts (including NAIA, D2 & D3). A few programs (and schools) are wondering if they will ever restart.

Despite various myths, the majority of college teams pick up 2-3 seniors heading into the school year for a variety of reasons. That is going to be tough. August - if it happens - will be insane.

Coaches like myself and @riseball place graduated seniors on college teams every year. My org is so far lucky this year as we only have I think 1 across several teams who need a home. We are close there.

@marriard My last 2020 just signed. She was a late bloomer and worked very hard to become a very cometent pitcher. Found a home and could not be happier.
