You can't keep spreading misinformation like this.

Your eyes are deceiving you badly.

glute max actions are: external rotation of hip and leg, extension of hip, abduction of hip. These are all the actions you describe as being done by the torso.

Please open a book/surf the web and try to find one muscle of the Torso that moves the pelvis. (Hint: THERE ARE NONE).

Whatever you do please stop saying this "core moves hips" stuff. It is not correct and some people end up reading it and believing it.

Please stop saying the hips open the core. That ground up nonsense is slow and drag.

here’s Will Clark demonstrating exactly what I’m saying again. The initial opening of the front hip is the obliques pulling. The actual hips hardly rotate. good players try to hit against the hips and legs. Not open everything up and twist their body open like a top.

if you open up your hips through the legs you lose the ground, you lose your torque. You are just spinning.

Why do you think the majority of hitters are closed at foot down? Why do you see the belly button turn forward before the front hip in every swing? If it was legs-pelvis-core It would be as plain as day.

at launch the belly button goes first pulling the front hip open while the back leg anchors and takes the slack out of the back hip. Once the slack is out, the core pulls the back foot which will get peeled off the ground while the back leg stays anchored/ERed to keep the slack out. The result is posterior pelvic tilt and torso turn against the hips which are being held in line by the legs.

I've reviewed this video several times. It seams to me the the BB does not move first. Its clearly the lower half moved first.

Do you have an example of creating leverage through the back heel ? Or maybe how are you teaching through the back heel ?

OK this is an extreme example, likewise Pujols does the same thing. The back knee starts over the toes in a deep crotch. As he loads the back knee moves over the heel and extends a little. The hips and body is already over the back heel. Wright takes it to the extreme loading hips/lowerbody farther into the back heel.

So it's a combination of several things happening above the back foot to create a good load action. The body/torso fold at the hips as well.

To learn the load through the back heel you stand up straight with no bend in the legs and then get the back to the heel. Then start in your normal stance and get the weight back and into the heel.

All leverage runs through the back foot/heel and not on the toes like some in the past of preached.

When the bb first moves that is going first; the front leg is still closed. Maybe you are perception biased? That has happened on more than 1 occasion.

No, Its not perception bias, It's literally what I see on video. Why the need the need for resisting with the upper half, from the lower half in order to take the slack out, it the BB is going first?

the resistance for me is in the lower half. The middle gets torqued because of the sequential resistance of the upper and the active resistance of the lower.

the hips are top of bottom.

It is so obvious in this clip as well. The top is hitting against the bottom. The hips are top of bottom at swing launch.

Call it bias if you want, but even in that clip the BB is not moving first. "Hitting Against the Top of the Botton" Against a fired bottom or a static or closed bottom?

a closed bottom. Close off your hips in your stance.Keep them closed throughout. Do the hips rotate you or your core?
