Sorry for the grim headline post name but I guess it's the era we're living in. I was to be coaching a 12U team in Minnesota. I'm hopeful we'll still get on the fields. Looking for ideas from all you wise coaches out there of how we can keep the girls engaged, moving and still building skills when we are in the middle of a shelter in place.

So far we are using Zoom to connect as a team for 30 minutes 2x a week and I'm posting solo workout, throwing, fielding with tennis ball type activities.

Would love to hear what anyone else is doing, and if you are willing to share any great resources to come with solo drills to give the players.
Stay Safe & Positive.

Same here. This is a list of things my 14U team will be doing using Zoom

Parents, as we continue this period of Covid-19 isolation, I wanted to give the girls some this to do at home. My concerns relative to softball are that when distancing is lifted, we are going to head right into the busy part of our season and they will not be physically ready for it. I’m going to have them create a groupme with the players and myself (parents are also welcome) so that on a daily basis we can communicate expectations and results. Here are a few things that are on my list:

J-bands (daily)
I’s, T’s, and Y’s
30 day core challenge
Hip mobility stretches
Hip hinge strengthening
Grip strength and roll-ups
Playing catch 3-4 times/week
Hitting off a T, 3 times/week
Completing their Field Level page
Me certifying the Field Level page
Practice writing an intro letter to a college coach
College goals, schools of interest, field of study etc
Complete a scouting report on yourself
Write a Dear Softball letter

I'm wondering about doing some sort of virtual practice with video. Currently we've just been discussing drills???
Is anyone trying this?

Just purchase J-Bands youth for my DD. Since we're stuck at home, having issues what to safely secure the bands to. What I've found best is to tall to properly perform the exercises. Outside of chain link fence at a park, what do you secure the bands to around the house? Thanks!

Several options. If you have a surface where you can attach an eye hook at the various levels that is an easy option

Door anchors for fitness bands work great

If you want something a little nicer with ease of adjustability buy some moving strap anchors

Do you have a basement that is unfinished? If so you probably have a wall that is built underneath the staircase to support the stairs. Just drill a few small holes in the 2x4s and screw some eye-bolts into the holes. Attach the resistance bands to the eye-bolts with carabineers. I have the eye bolts drilled in every 12 inches.

I don't. Newly built house in Southern California - we have nothing fun.
