not quoting you per say. But his content is incorrect. For whomever cares...

The upper is rotating against the lower. The lower must resist opening through impact to create reciprocal rotation and for the player to get across their body without pushing. No TTB needed.

he is correct stating that the upper and lower counter rotate during the negative move, that’s about it. During the forward move the lower remains closed as best as possible. That’s where the stretch happens. It’s in the middle. With the lower stabilized. The middle rotates against the resisting lower. Antagonistic or reciprocal rotation.

He’s closer. But his agenda is blinding him. His need to be right is handicapping him. Happens to all the ones who fail. Can’t see past their ego.

carry on.

Yep, I didn't invent the term !! Its been around for years and got dropped when some claimed the swing to be one legged.. They also tried to re-define foot plant not to be used as part of the 5 frame swing.
Your argument is with the one legged guy.

Cornbread, I think you nailed it !! We know the barrel turns on every swing but what action causes and when.
You can say the barrel turns in every swing but TTB is specifically turning the barrel around the rear forearm.
Do you think the chopping down motion has a barrel turn? (not in the sense of TTB as I defined above)
Does swinging a hammer involve turning the hammer?
There are a few that speak of TTB for planing. I’m ok with that. Heck, I have used it for understanding how to slot and get on plane. It’s when guys say it’s to achieve speed and force that TTB is necessary as the action that creates that. I don’t agree. This to me is TTB, a planing agent.

the blur starts when his hands come forward.
Go figure.

Clarify, when the hands move forward in relation to what?

Reciprocal motion? Lower resisting opening for the player to get across his body? Lots of words that don't describe what the picture clearly shows....

Bold above... Are you suggesting that the hands are moving away from the body at this point? Or moving forward in space due partially to the turning of the torso?

Keep in mind that some TTB followers will suggest instantaneous bat speed. That's not what I propose. All I propose is that the acceleration curve begins while the barrel is traveling rearward. Then acceleration continues.
There's no such thing as instantaneous speed. There is acceleration and there is speed.

This is not a new claim.

EDIT: I also don't find it nearly as surprising as you seem to.
Ted Williams told Wade Boggs and Don Mattingly that they didn't know what they were doing. Julray said Williams didn't know what he was talking about. Lol.
