I have 3 diplomas, but have yet to walk across the stage to receive one. I missed my high school graduation for a HS state tournament, my college graduation for an NCAA regional, and my masters degree graduation to coach a high school game. I have been to several other folks graduations though and I don’t feel like I missed much - just a funny series of coincidences
My wife went back to school and got another degree. Myself and DD missed her walking across the stage. My wife missed a 16 hr day at the fields with DD playing seven games with a couple of special moments and great comebacks.

not for softball, but kinda related, gave up promotion which meant moving because in new location DD1's primary sport did not even exist at any level (no clubs, no HS, no rec, nothing). she has been working to be able to play in college, was working hard, maintaining high 90s average in school freshman year, working hard, could not pull rug out from under her.

no regrets, I am certain watching her play her first game in college will make it all worthwhile.

My boat hasn't seen the water in 6 years. Not sure if my cottage is still standing or inhabited by vagrants. The car I'd like to restore is still in the corner of my garage.

Really?....I've missed things for softball, but this I would not. If your kids teams have more then 9 players, go on the cruise. you probably at softball every weekend, when's the next time you can go on an Alaskan cruise?....and for free to boot!
Believe me, it was really hard to pass, but I own three businesses and between her softball and my son's baseball I'd be gone 22 days out of the month July. With payroll and other things it was just too hard.
