What's the worst thing you had to give up/pass on for softball?

My mother-in-law is paying for an Alaskan cruise, all we have to do is show up. Well, the dates she picked we'll be coming back from Myrtle Beach on the day the cruise leaves. Tried looking at other dates but softball and my sons baseball just wouldn't let it happen.

I have 3 diplomas, but have yet to walk across the stage to receive one. I missed my high school graduation for a HS state tournament, my college graduation for an NCAA regional, and my masters degree graduation to coach a high school game. I have been to several other folks graduations though and I don’t feel like I missed much - just a funny series of coincidences

Several Widespread Panic Runs. But never miss a Red Rocks run before Boulder IDT. Just saw that we have a tourney scheduled for the Austin run and might have to cancel the tourney!

If USNA makes it to the NCSA championship, DD will miss the JR ring dance. This is a big deal for the Naval Academy. The rings are lowered into a large vat containing water from the seven seas. Last year the juniors at the championship dipped their rings into a water jug. Based on the reactions from the Navy team, I expect winning a second National Championship was more important.

Really?....I've missed things for softball, but this I would not. If your kids teams have more then 9 players, go on the cruise. you probably at softball every weekend, when's the next time you can go on an Alaskan cruise?....and for free to boot!

Another vote for the cruise ... you will have plenty of softball memories, do you need one more?

(Spoken from a poor person's point of view. ;) )

Given up any form of summer vacation for years. Summer is also my busy season with work but we used to sneak away in June or September but that disappeared with travel ball. Any tournaments we've had to fly to or drive more than 10 hours to have been our defacto summer vacations.

My wife is from HI. We used to go there every summer to visit the in-laws before TB. To be honest I don't miss it that much and to this point TB has been cheaper..a HI trip every year gets expensive.
