We finally got to a store with a Hit Trax and hit a few bats. Exit Velocity:

Ghost Advanced 32 drop 11 -- 54 mph
Demarini 2020 CF -- 32 drop 10 -- 54 mph
Demarini Prism -- 32 drop 10 -- 53 mph
LS 2020 LXT -- 32 drop 10 -- 52 mph
Ghost Advanced 32 drop 9 -- 52 mph
LS 2018 LXT -- 31 drop 11 -- 51 mph (HER CURRENT BAT)

Sad thing is, we were there specifically to try the Ghost Advanced 32 drop 10. And they didn't have it. Even after I called in the day before and they said they did. :(

So, I'm thinking the Ghost Advanced 32 drop 10 is the way to go. Based on the data above, can anyone weigh in on that? Makes sense, yes? For what it's worth, it was her favorite.
What is the margin of error on the device that is measuring the EV.......?

Fine question. I have no idea. And while I did have her bounce between bats and I monitors her max EVs, by all means this wasn't very scientific. I didn't really get averages, so the max could be an outlier. But we took about 10 cuts on each bat before she started getting a bit tired and speeds came down across the board.

I'd like to think that with a teeny bit more weight the Ghost Advanced 32/22 would be the top bat. But perhaps that's wishful thinking and of course I'm splitting hairs at this point.

i dont know about hit trax. but the Blast motion sensor is within .5mph of the pocket radar ball coach

Found something:

Mike Donfrancesco, the founder of HitTrax had this to say about our data logs:

“The data captured by the HitTrax System provides a quantitative and objective measurements of a players’ performance. Reports showing incoming pitch speed and outgoing exit velocity have an accuracy of +/- 1 mph RMS. "

Point being the numbers @uncdrew gave are pretty much a wash imo (which isn't surprising given the magnitude of the exit velocity and how bats are designed) ..pick the bat the kid is most comfortable with...

I can't disagree with that.

When the salesman said "wow, much better numbers with the new bats than her old bats" I told him that was most likely because she's excited about getting a new bat.

Having weighed now close to 20, 32/21 GA's and not a single one coming in under 23 ounces (drop 9). The few 32/22 that I weighed were roughly around 23.5 ounces. So talking .3-.6 ounce difference in the drop 11 and drop 10 at the 32 length. I would wait until they have one to test and then compare the two. I think key might be if the drop 10 feels more balanced than the drop 11 at virtually the same weight then go drop 10. Just realize the CF was at least an ounce lighter despite one thinking it was an ounce heavier if weights were accurate.

There's certainly a lot to be said about getting the one that is her favorite. No doubt they need to have confidence in the bat they are using. But if you go Advanced 32/22, she will be going up at least 2 oz's based on the bat weight database. That's a fairly large jump.

It is, but her current bat is flat out too light. We live on a farm and our kids clean the stalls, carry hay bails, muck buckets and bags of shavings. They're all getting really strong from years of consistent farm work.

She's using an aluminum bat now (Rocketech) that is 23.6 ounces. Her LXT is 21.6 ounces. Things seem to be fine...

The store is about an hour away. Yes, I should go back. But not sure I want to. :(
