LETS HAVE SOME FUN, Y’All!

USF tournament in Tampa. Some cool sub plots here!

Florida. University of South Florida. Michigan. Fresno State. Illinois State.

Illinois State upset USF yesterday. The winning pitcher was Morgan Day who beat LSU as a freshman a couple years ago in what was an absolutely sparkling performance. USF is coached by the head coach of USA national team Ken Ericsen. Ericsen is currently on leave with Team USA. Still, Is this a new dawn for the formerly injury plagued Redbirds? This year ISU has on staff as a new volunteer assistant coach. That volunteer happens to be the second winningest NCAA college softball Coach Margie Wright. Coach Wright won an NCAA championship at..... Fresno State!

So- how will the ISU vs. Fresno State matchup go? Can Fresno state beat their former coach whom their home field is named after? Well, Fresno State added Coach Matt Lisle to the staff after he was released from the Whitesox. It can be fairly said and fairly argued that he will make an impact in the first year.

Hutch! Hutches fiery coaching! Will this pitching staff come into its own? Keep your eye on Storako. She sits as a sophomore behind their junior #1 but they could turn into a real dynamic 1-2 punch. Can this team score more runs this year?

And what about Florida? The Barnhill circus is over. Was she a distraction? Will they be even better than before?

I really wish I was there to see it. All of it.

I didn't watch any of these games, but did watch two LSU/OK St. games and they were excellent.

Started the Fri ALA/FL St. game and gave up on it after 3 innings, as FLA St. looked like a mediocre HS team at that point.
Boy was I surprised to read the next am that FLA St. came back to win in 8 innings.

Overall, this season really has the feel of a "changing of the guard" don't you think?
A LOT of the big names of the last few seasons have graduated.

I like how OK State hits the last couple years.

I watched a little of games on the internet but wasn’t interested enough to stay with the streamed content from one camera behind the backstop.

I did watch a couple Texas games on LHN. They looked pretty tough. They are my week one pick to win it all, lol.

I saw on another forum the criticism of a perennial contender SEC team that they won’t win until they hire a “legit“ hitting coach. Really made me think about how colleges go about this.

I watched some of the OU games on Flosoftball and tbh I think the announcers had never watched a FP game before and that includes the game they were announcing..

They had no clue about the game of softball ;) One play the batter bunted the ball and it hit her in fair
territory and the announcers didn't even say anything about it and I am about 99% sure it was because they didn't know the rule..

How about those Missouri tigers going 5 and 0 this weekend over Baylor, Minnesota, Louisville, South Alabama and Notre Dame. An all freshman pitching staff except for the closer Eli Daniel who plays a baseball like closer role. Looks like coach Larissa Anderson had her team playing with a chip on their shoulder after the extraordinary sanctions from the ncaa banned them from post season play this year.

Seems like their first real test is OK State.

Anderson does seem to be doing a good job there.
