Yes especially out of season if you are expected to attend all 4. Our team practices 1 3 hr practice January through start of play depending on age that's march for the young ones or later for HS age kids who can't practice in school season. Our organization is generally regarded as one of the top in the country. Now our are expected to hit and cross train on their own so they are likely working 3 to 4 days per week so if you're doing all of that as a team....I guess it's not so bad...but still.

Our HS teams practice every day, M-F, until games start. They do get the occasional day off, but they know to expect a practice or a game every weekday. I don't believe that's excessive, but if they do they don't have to play.

Depends - HS or TB?

DD’s TB team has 2 3.5 hr practices each week plus they are expected to have private hitting/pitching/catching.

DD’s HS team (they play in the fall here) practiced from 3:30 until dark every night and then had to run. They practiced every day they didn’t play M-Sat and they were expected to do a one hr workout after every game as well. (Or more if they lost). Saturday practices were from 8:30am-1pm. And the field was “open” to the girls on Sundays for hitting “on their time” if the wanted. It was frustrating because they still had homework on top of this...makes for a very stressful season. My DD loved it - me - not so much - watching her sleep only 3-4 hours a night.

For TB, especially if your team is geographically spread out, yes. For HS, I know our team either practiced or had a game every weekday. But for TB, I'd rather have 1-2 long practices per week than 4 shorter ones. Remember that most of the time, parents have to drive and often have to leave work early to drive long distances to practice and/or fight traffic. I wouldn't ask a parent to have to do that 4 days per week.
