Great, I wasn't criticizing, just noting in case you didn't see that. I was more worried about the hand stall size but sounds like you had it covered. Looks great btw. DD loves her HOH. I'm currently breaking in a HOH catchers glove for myself.

@HighStrung I wasnt taking that as criticism at all. And yes it is always a risk buying a glove online without the DD being able to try it on. If nothing else it will be a quality glove she can grow into if the hand stall is a little spacious. As a kid I always played ball with budget gear and I wanted to treat DD to something quality to reward her for her constant dedication to the sport.

Most stores do have a 100% return policy. Annoying, but you can try it on and send it back if you have to.

What’s wrong with a baseball glove, I was always under the impression they were built better than fastpitch gloves, am I wrong?
My understanding is that gloves designed for softball typically have a smaller hand stall and a slightly larger/deeper pocket (makes sense for a bigger ball and smaller girl hands) Catchers gloves are definitely different between the two. I've never been led to believe that a quality made glove for softball is of any less quality than baseball, especially when talking about the higher end models, HOH, A2000, and several others.

That said, I never said anything was wrong with a baseball glove for fastpitch, I was just making sure he was getting what he thought he was. When I was ordering DD's current glove online, I was almost all the way thru the process and realized I made a mistake and had a baseball glove selected (my DD has rather small/dainty hands). I was just trying to be helpful, not critical of his decision.

I care more about what fits and what the girl is comfortable with. For that matter I literally just semi-retired my baseball first base glove that I've been using to catch DD for the past few years, and moved to a fastpitch catchers glove. The previous glove worked fine the whole time until her speed picked up and movement really increased. I'll still use it to play catch or whatever, just not when she's pitching.
