More bat speed means more forgiveness on mishits?
Since you seem to be on the physics kick of late ( ;) ) conservation of linear momentum tells us that, for a given contact point, higher bat speed at contact means higher exit velocity. This isn't a testament for chasing bat speed (at contact) just trying to set the facts straight.

I just want to say that you can have a higher batspeed and not an efficient swing. You can have a high batspeed and not a very good swing.
I assumed you understood that the point of the swing is to hit the ball.
But I guess with this crowd I have to spell it all out.
Look y'all can do whatever you want. Invent terminology, disregard physics and visual evidence, I don't care. I have some things I've tried and they work, so I thought I'd share them here but you guys are nothing but a bunch of skeptics and self-proclaimed experts. Just disregard anything I say and go along on your closed minded, blissful way. You know it all and there's nothing for you to learn from others here.
Goodbye.

You have to push the envelop, I agree with that. I just know from video evidence that just trying to generate batspeed by itself can create a longer swing.

Improving mishits is not from gaining batspeed. It’s from having a better path which improves timing in most cases. At least at the highest levels...

That would be improving the amount of mishits not improving the result of a mishit. Is my English really that bad...

Improvement is the ball going higher on a pop up or a higher harder chopper? That’s what more batspeed does imo.

Improvement to me is turning the pop up into a line drive or fly ball and the chopper into a line drive or a harder, sharper ground ball. Through a balanced sequence with a better short to long through path.

In softball at least, it seems to me that I see a lot of "mishits" which end up going over the fence.

As an FYI, and I have said this already, I don't believe one should chase barrel velocity (at impact) at all costs. If a swing needs to have a lower barrel velocity at contact to produce less mishits than that will be better. Just arguing here that the result of a mishit, which everyone will have at some point, with a higher barrel velocity will have a higher chance of success than one which had a lower barrel velocity. That is what @Bobby Shirer was saying and which you questioned. Can you give a fact-based argument which goes against this? If yes, give it, if no then this round goes to me

I just did. Path is more important than speed. Balance and path are king. I thought Barry telling you was enough proof? ‘Don’t break down the problem’ remember? He said nothing about any kind of speed did he?

The only thing I wanted you to answer was this:

"Just arguing here that the result of a mishit, which everyone will have at some point, with a higher barrel velocity will have a higher chance of success than one which had a lower barrel velocity."

Agree or disagree?
