How to build habit of turning stride foot before landing

My DD has been having issues turning her front foot inward on landing. I have noticed that certain pitchers like Ueno actually land with a straight stride foot as well. I also noticed with Ueno, that while she lands with a straight foot, her foot does turn in slightly before landing and then straightens out. My DD does something similar, where it does appear to turn a bit but when she lands, and actually pitches, her stride foot is straight.

I've tried reminding her before each pitch to turn her foot slightly but she is forgetting often. I'm wondering though, is that even important? As long as she's getting somewhat closed while during the pitch, is it ok to land with a straight foot to the catcher?

Ueno doesn't land straight a least in the videos I just watched. I would think being completely straight would be pretty hard on her knee plus its hard to even picture that motion honestly v(I tried it and and almost fell over first time...lol)....I think 30 degrees as a ballpark to where you would start then to maybe 60 degrees at most...again you don't want to be sideways either...although I think you will see variance based on physiology but 45 is usually a good target.

It's not completely straight but it's almost.. way more than others I've seen

@ 28 and 29 seconds of this video, you can see her toe turns in prior to landing straight

Ueno does several things a little bit differently than most pitchers, they are subtle and go unnoticed. Her 'brush interference' is heavier than most, she traps her arm back there. She does not have strong front side resistance, look at her head and you will that it continues moving forward from landing to after release, very unusual.

The move has more potential for bad than good. Better to teach the basics which will yield far greater rewards--much faster.
