Pitches are drifting away from the batter

From what I recall reading somewhere, if balls are going toward a RH batter, then arm is not brushing close to the body as it should, but if balls are drifting away from the batter, then would that mean my DD is releasing late?

I've been closely watching her on some pitches and it almost looks like her balls are coming out somewhat sidearm. She's definitely serving it "under the table" as she should, but her wrist action appears to be making the ball come out sideways.. not quite a 12-6. I've also used tape on the ball and can confirm her balls are not always a perfect 12/6.. in fact usually it's a 3/6 or so.. so my question is.. how do you fix this?
How do you really enforce a full out underhand pitch vs a pseudo side arm?

First, releasing early or late is a fallacy. The release zone is so small and the arm moves through it so fast that any conscious changes to it are impossible. The consistency in release comes from brush (brush interference, brush assisted whip, brush assisted release, and a million other terms used to describe it). So adjusting a pitch in and out by consciously changing the release doesn't work.

Second, there are literally a dozen reasons your DD is missing her target. From stability issues to drive issues to arm circle inconsistencies....it would be impossible to give any advice without seeing an actual pitch. Giving advice without seeing an actual pitch is akin to throwing darts at a dartboard.

Third, I don't understand a 3/6 spin, but if you are referring to bullet spin that has to do with the way the fingers are coming off the ball. Again, impossible to really say without seeing.

Ok let's just start small..
DD isn't doing a full out bullet spin, but it's definitely not the 12-6 spin which I want her to throw. Since you said the spin has to do with the way the fingers are coming off the ball, can you tell me how the fingers should be coming off the ball for a 12-6?

@DNeeld is giving you some good advice.

A video would really help us figure out what is going on with her.

It is possible she is doing something fundamentally wrong. Or, it could be just an over-anxious parent.

I agree with the above, there are too many different possibilities to go through without video. But I'll throw out there, as I see this with my DD.

Notice at 12:00 how she has chest out / shoulders back. My dd will get in the habit of ... rolling, or keeping her shoulders forward. almost hunched but not quite. The worse it gets the more down and away tail she gets. It has gotten to the point that everything she threw was a slider.

Because I am such a fast learner it only took our PC two lessons for me to understand what was happening and to remember the key word reminders she used with my dd to correct it.
