Any recommendations for gear to fit my short 10 year old DD? I ordered a bunch of gear to try on and some of the gear has started to come in and is just too big. So far we have tried on a 13" All-Star Chest Protector and 13" leg guards. I don't know how All-Start sizes the gear, but the 13" leg guards were labeled as for a 7-9 year old. I have some Schutt gear coming, but the smallest they make was also 13". I struggled trying to find the new Easton gear individually so I ordered that in a kit. The small Easton has 12" leg guards, but the chest protector is 14". I was able to find a Rawlings Junior Renegade leg guards in a 11.5". The smallest Rawlings chest protector I found individually was a 13" Velo. Should I just go to Academy and buy the cheap junior kit that is more for t-ball/coach pitch?

You just have to try stuff. Also, one manufacturer's 13" may not be the same size as another. If I recall, All-Star tends to be on the larger end of the spectrum.

Ok. I was able to find a 12" Schutt chest protector and ordered that from the manufacturer's website so we will see how that goes. It seems like most had the same measuring scheme. Measuring collar bone to the waist for a chest protector and middle of the knee cap to the ankle for the leg protector. My DD measured at 11" for both.

Same measuring scheme, yes. In reality, one manufacturer's 13" is not the same size as another manufacturer's 13". Same is true for glove sizes and bat weights.

Ordered a ton of gear to try on and it was almost all too big. The new Easton gear did fit pretty well. The small leg guards are 12" and while the chest protector is listed as a 14" it was small than the Schutt 12" and several other brands 13" chest protector. Small helmet fit great and DD says it is very comfortable.
