Dbsf is a one legged issue. Not this young ladies issue. She has a pulling core. No need to keep the barrel vertical. She isn’t leveraging her back leg.. Get the shift of mass consistently on time.

Ted had DBSF? No he did not. He had a pulling core. There really is no such thing as Dbsf. Well to one leggers Dbsf is a real problem.

When one can leverage the middle. The barrel or back leg isn’t needed for leverage.

@Work=wins Ted isn't getting the barrel flat(or nearly flat) before he launches

trying to hit a ball well when the pitch is below your belt is very difficult (among other problems) when you launch from that position..believe me.. ;)

Edit: I do agree with you regarding her getting "stuck on her back side"

Just got this wanted to get some video in a different environment and see if everything still looks as you guys originally seen it. Thought?

Same issue I saw in the second game swing. No transfer of mass and core stretch. Take a look at the first and second game swings and see what’s different.

When one uses a pulling core. A transfer is automatic. Basically because it’s pulling the body forward while loading it. When one doesn’t . A spinny or armsy swing will most likely be the result. An inefficient loading technique.

Heres a good transfer. Notice the bb go forward before the stride goes. I picked this one because he has a lot of arm action like your dd.

My point being DBSF is a reaction to other things. Mainly a faulty ‘motor’. The need to level early is because the body knows it won’t catch up in the present position it’s in, so it compensates by ‘early’ leveling. No such thing as early leveling. More so a faulty engine was my point. Will is leveling from his stance right? 😉

So early leveling is bad (regardless of the cause..)..glad you agreed with me (and others).

I think Will doesn’t agree with you and others. I’m indifferent. 😏 I don’t think it’s a thing. I just think there is no engine. That’s about it. We can agree to disagree.

I deleted my post. TBH I don't have the energy or interest right now to discuss hitting. I should have just kept my mouth shut to begin with.

What I see here is common with the other swings. There is a clear intent to bring the hands to the level of the ball, with the barrel parallel with the ground. The slower leveling behind that we saw before is less prominent in these swings (IMO). However, the "hands-to-the-ball" path creates a downward barrel path through contact, creating the ball flight issues you mentioned.

I'm of the belief that we want to turn the barrel rearward immediately, pivoting around the hands, with force, and the intent to get the barrel accelerating as quickly as possible. I think she could adopt that concept fairly easily, and increase her quickness and barrel speed, but fixing the barrel path is a critical part of the process, and is where I would start if I was working with her.

To add a visual to what Ericf is saying about hand path and flat swing.

Green Lines: Each swing posted the rear arm bend is for a low ball (hands dropped alot)...when each ball is waist high or above.

Purple Lines: From front elbow thru hands...extended to show where bat should be...as an extension of the front forearm and the angle.

Yellow Lines: The bat itself...parallel to the ground..not angled much..not an extension of the front forearm.

If we were to fix her position on the last swing, she would look more like the right side picture below...which i manipulated. Front elbow, hands above the ball and bat angled with front forearm and not parallel to the ground.

To just run the pattern. Screw a 12in whiffle ball to the end of a mop/broom handle. Stand in front of her or hold it in front of her and have her do slow mo to moderate stop swings... with the ball at various heights...checking front forearm angle, hand height, bat angle at contact...then progress that feel to front toss.

Also agree with needing to TTB. She needs to get at least a "running start" with the barrel in right direction going into connection and front heel drop.

There are some things to like here at her age. I would want her to load and shift more like she does in the video when she is in the white uniform...rather than the other two no stride swings. Since she did a no stride ...with the front toss video...your probably going to have to deal with that to help her become consistent with it and improve it.
