Dd needs a new bag.

she currently has a navy/yellow boombah beast, a navy/orange boombah beast, and a demarini momentum bag, each one in varying used condition (although demarini is in very good condition). all of these are inadequate for a fastpitch catcher who uses kneesavers and a batting helmet with faceguard.

been looking primarily at either boombah brute or Rawlings Yadi bag. any body have any opinions on either both. really love that the Yadi bag seems to come only in black, really ready to be done with this bag in team colors crap, want a bag she can use for school (MS might be starting softball this year, big push among parents for baseball, so they need to add a girls sport as well) and TB. but worried that Yadi bag might be a little too big for 12 yo girl who is avg to smaller for her age. And DD like boombah stuff (chest protector is boombah, legs are RAwlings, helmet is Schutt, mitt is AS).

I am also looking for a new bag for DD. Currently also using Boombah. I have been looking very hard at the Bownet Commander or Cadet. Both seem to have very good reviews and Dimarini's quality has gone down quite a bit.

DD is not a catcher, but I like the idea of being able to better organize multiple gloves and other accoutrements that are an inherent part of the TB lifestyle.

My DD's most recent team uses Easton bags. I was initially concerned about durability, but we have been really pleased with the Easton E900W that my DD has been using. If you want a little more room, the E900C was used by another catcher on the team, and it was equally solid.

You will get a couple years out of the Boobah Brute, but for $80 it’s not a bad deal. DD likes the one giant pocket for equipment. She has her gear (no knee savers), two mitts, fielding glove and batting helmet with room to spare. Like most bat on the bottom bags it takes some work to get the bat in where it will zip closed. It will also wear out at the bottom like most bags do from curb drag. Great zippers! I would definitely buy another one.

thanks, I like the idea of one big main compartment as well, that is my issue with the boombah beast. the side compartments are really not good for anything but leg guards, but with knee savers leg guards barely fit. and the main compartment barely fits CH and BH with a faceguard.

tip for getting bats in hold the bag kinds upside down (with all but bat campartment closed, so long flat bottom of bag is facing the sky, but at an angle), so gear shifts it weight to the "top" of the bag, kinda moves stuff out of the way. hard to describe, and I know I did poorly. I think also keeping mulitple bats in their helps, I try to and get DD to slide bat to be put back in between two others already in their, so they are pushing other gear out of the way already.

Makes sense on the bats. The Brute holds four bats, two in each sleeve. There are two separate compartments. Also, forgot to mention the separate cleat bag with the mesh front on the bottom held up really well. I thought the metal spikes would destroy it.

One of mine had a brute. It’s big enough for catchers gear. My daughter would still have it, but the dog chewed it up and they didn’t have a brute in the right color to replace it.

Did a lot of shopping last year and ultimately got the Louisville Slugger Prime Rig. This will be her last bag before college - it’s big. Similar to a Louisville bag that she had in MS that lasted 3 years. Back then she rolled that, and carried her backpack and a baritone. Not sure how she did it.

Stay away from Demarini Special Ops roller bag. Too small for all catchers gear and quality is not great. Actually got both roller bag & bat pack replaced free for LS bags. Slugger bag is bigger and better but wouldn’t buy one.
How about Wilson Pudge or Mizuno roller bags?
Never had an issue with Boombah products.
