Like MadBandit our rec is LL. no restrictions. I believe that all of the girls on our local tb also play LL. As it happens, our local TB team basically takes girls from our school district which is two LL towns.
Both towns split up their travel players across their rec teams (that is a total of 5 12U teams between the 2 towns). I know not all the girls were happy. They want to play together whenever they can. But it would not be fair to do so.

The other town has 14U all star team in the World Series and their 12U All star lost in the state finals. Our town won the 11U states. The TB org is really why the town all star teams are so good. The do a really good job of teaching. Between the 3 all star teams, I believe that 6 of the coaches also coach in the TB org as well.

I feel pretty fortunate to have them.

My DD's old rec league has for limitations pitchers can't pitch more than 18 outs a week for 10u and 12u. 10u regular season and 12u playoffs a pitcher can't pitch more than 6 outs in first four innings.

There also was a rule to be eligible to pitch, they had to be evaluated and ranked before team formation to prevent someone from hiding a pitcher.

We had a 12u-B 'select' team that plays tournaments and against other leagues' 'select' team. In the past we had girls play both A ball and rec, but usually played up an age in rec.

to me this is essential, need to spread out pitching and catching, to make the games bearable. and if there truly is a girl whiffing everybody, maybe have her throw from 43 voluntarily, good training, and a compliment to them.

We move players up and down age groups as necessary. Last year we had a few players who pitched in 10U for experience (which was primarily why they were playing rec) but we didn't let bat or field (they played 12U)

Our town team had no pitching at all and my youngest DD wanted to play and they had no coach so i was called upon to coach the team. I had my older DD join the team so we'd have some pitching. They are 11 and 12 btw so it was 12U. My oldest has been pitching for a while now and is decent, pitches for her travel team. I didn't let her throw anything but CU's the whole season. Her FB is low 50's so rec that is not getting hit. She didn't like it at first but it did wonders for her CU control.
