My daughter is an upcoming high school junior pitcher/first base/outfield.

She’s a bit particular about her pitching glove. Still a 12” I believe. Won’t change it. Won’t think about changing it. . It’s a cheaperish mizuno fastpitch glove. We bought a lot of them several years ago and she’s been eating through them until they’re all used up & unusable.

When she’s not pitching (especially on her travel team) she was usually at first. We bought her some 1b mitts but she always refused to wear them. She Uses her 12” mizuno !!

This past season she showed some good work in right field too and both high school and travel coach have her out there some too now. She uses the 12” mizuno for outfield. !!

I think we leave her pitching glove alone but try and convince her to get at least a little larger one for 1b and outfield (same glove that serves for both- and not a 1b glove- she won’t do it). But to convince her - I’m probably going to have to give her some good options to try out. She’s used to a small and light glove. I think that’s key. Any suggestions ?

My daughter plays 3rd, 1st and outfield. For 3rd she uses a 12" A2000 superskin but for first and outfield she uses a 12.5 A2000 superskin and loves the feel and lightness of it. This is it.

Is your dd happy with her glove in all situations? Is she a good fielder?

Why change?

She was happy & she does well. No complaints until a hit to right field near the end of travel ball season.... ... she reached out as far as she could... & it would have been a great, great play if she would've pulled it off... but it just skimmed her glove instead of being caught... charged with an error, so we're thinking we at least have to see if an outfield glove will make a difference on those.

No complaints at 1b... she does great with the smaller glove there... so idk what we'll do.

Almost Great great plays that skim the glove are not errors. A half inch of glove would not have made a difference.
