You guys need to get a room..It is like in Jr. High when a girl likes you so she keeps hitting you..or at least that is what I told myself..that is what happens..right?? 😆

Nope it’s real. No effort until after his turn.

Another ‘basement baller’

Check out how Sheffield's bat doesn't turn backwards from the start of the tip to untipping. He creates alot of bat lag and doesn't TTB from the start. All swings are not the same, this swing is different then the Ortiz clip I posted in another thread.

I see hands initially down to the ball until he decides to set his pivot/TTB

Edit: Actually I'm not sure it's a conscious effort to set his pivot/TTB

It seems to me this approach could get you in trouble with pitches up in the zone. Sure you can hammer some ones low in the zone and maybe that was his thinking as he talked a lot about picking his pitches.

Not extremely high in the zone but above the belt

Not seeing anything unusual here. Bat head moving back towards catcher. Typical TTB.

All of the bat wagging he does just prior to the start of this GIF is just to get into the same position as all other MLB hitters.
