I have two DDs, both say they want to play college ball. One does everything she can to get there, will hit two buckets worth off the tee before leaving for school, for example. The other, a pitcher, not quite as determined but asks me to catch for her two or three times a week.

DD1, 14yo, was invited to join a showcase team this past fall. Her team is going to five invite only showcases this summer, and I'm just learning the ins and outs of this process.

DD2, in the same organization, playing on one of their B teams.

I'm slowly learning how to help DD2 with her mechanics. I have no knowledge or ability to help DD1 with her batting.

While I can't personally help you, maybe posting your location can get you some suggestions for a hitting coach.

Thanks. I should have mentioned she has a hitting coach. We can't get to the coach every week, so she is regularly asking me to watch her swing and make corrections. I can stand there and put balls on the tee while she is hitting into the Bownet, but for corrections, I'm useless

Are you able to stay to watch (and listen) to her lessons? Ask her instructor what he is working on with her, what he is looking for, etc. Also at first you may need to video her and play it back in slow motion to be able to recognize the things which he is talking about so you can help her.

What part of the Northeast? I grew up in Southern MA (Fall River area).

I am in MA and know quite a few folks in New England so depends on what you are looking for. Full disclosure, I didn't grow up in the fancy Fall River area like @pattar though...

I'm in southern NY.

Her hitting coach is a college player. DD regularly sends her coach videos when she is out of town. The coach is great about reviewing them and replying quickly. I think DD wants immediate feedback, and also wants me to engage with me on her hitting.

After a lesson the coach always explains what they worked on that day, what DD is doing well and what she needs to work on. She explained to me two days ago what her plan is for the summer, most of which went right over my head.

Need to keep learning. You might want to post what the plan is on the hitting forum and maybe people will help you understand it a bit better.
