OK guys, why isn't anybody more critical of this stuff?

Yeah he is got a lot of accomplishments but now what to do with this stuff. I have googled his stuff and it's almost like people are afraid of him. Do not question the great Wizard of Oz mentality.

Mostly because the video is old and Mike has evolved somewhat what he teaches today. Happy to say whatever about a current video, but not going to call him on out on something he recorded when he had way less grey hair.

Not saying I agree completely with what he teaches today, but that he is willing to evolve his coaching methods based on new information is one of the positive traits I am looking for in a coach. There are so very few who are.

There was of course a time where he was National Team coach and no one said anything, but that time has passed.

Spot on. Mike is a student of the game and continously evolves. I recall him teaching bug squishing at one point and when asked about why he changed he simply said he came across better information.

I’d also put Sue Enquist in the same category. Any of her videos that pop up on YouTube from more than 3 years ago I usually ignore.

She has a more recent video, possibly from the NFCA convention, where she gives a *great* presentation. IIRC, she also spends time discussing how her teaching has evolved.

I think that video is hosted by fast pitch.tv, but should be available on YouTube.

Ok! weak sauce. If I (or you) were to come on the forum and say the things he says be would be gutted or filleted and left to die on the side of the river. Where is the snap?

RH, imho, anyone who has been around this hitting stuff for any length of time knows that both Mike and Sue have made drastic changes in what they teach. There were the original videos and then, they eventually progressed to RVP where they made or promoted stuff that was a lot different than what they once taught. Personally, I had RVP for a very long time but was never drawn to their stuff just as I was never drawn to Slaught's stuff. Instead, I took a different journey as did many here with the various gurus. It isn't that I give Mike a pass. In my journey, he was never one I took interest in. For me, Lau, Epstein, Hudgens, Nyman, Englishbey, ... were who I read and studied.

Keep in mind that this in one person's opinion and so, take it for what it is worth.
