DD2, still a relatively new pitcher, started working on her two-seam fastball recently. I am used to the sound I hear often with her regular fastball. This morning her two-seam sounded different. Does that make sense? Do other pitches sound different as well?

Different sound? Sure. Dd wild pitches used to wiz over my head and had so much spin they sounded different..

I only remember 1 girl throwing gas in OKC and I've never at any age heard a ball make the noise it was making. The old ump behind the plate for over 20+ years said the same thing.

If you put your ear close to a fastball you can totally hear the wiz when it flies by. Screwballs and changeups sound the same like a race car. Risers have whistle sound. Drops are really weird. Those sound more like a orange. Speaking of which, if you spell O-R-A-N-G-E it sounds like "gullible"

What was the sound?
A sound I've never heard a softball make. I'm guess her rotation was off the charts combined with an equally impressive speed causing a audible frequency or resonance almost pulsating through the air. By the time she was done 20 people were on the fence just taking it all in.
