So you believe strength is the difference....the reason....why few if any girls swing with a mlb swing?
I don't agree.
Anyone can learn the mlb swing. Better athletes will be better (quicker mainly) at it. But regardless of your athletic make up your potential is found when you find the mlb swing technique.
There is a lot of talk (from dad's looking for excuses?) on the net about 'only mlb players' can swing that way. There is no reason why everyone can't.
You just have to practice it.
I have never seen a fastpitch player I would use as a model.
Might be out there.....I just haven't seen it.
Yeah it's not Boardmember but I'm pretty sure it IS someone yanking our, mostly my, chain. lol
First thread I've read today. Maybe he fessed up somewhere else.
I'd rather you think of a connected swing where the hands stay near the shoulder through the early part of rotation. A to C says this to me though I'm sure you don't mean this. Products We Offer
See the first video on the link for the bad example of A to C interpretation.
Generally, a long swing, with hands dropping is due to front side opening up early (usually on load/stride). It can also be due to too long a stride.
I personally like the tee idea. Set it up high and have her hit. I'm also a big fan of the zip-n-hit. You can get a lot of repetition and focus on the swing. Set it up high.
Good luck!
I am trying to say that before the forward turn/rotation occurs hands are dropped to get inline w/pitch. That is why I was using the triangle analogy. I am trying to express that the path of the bat is going down and then forward as opposed to forward and down on an angle or single direct linear path. I realize the swing is to be rotational but parts of the swing appears as though they move in a line due to 2-D perspective.
Thanks.
I have used the high tee protocol to good effect. If someone's interested I'll describe it.
