She had her pick of 32 D1 full ride offers. She first verballed to Washington. Then rescinded that and commited to BYU where she recently visited, committed and then signed.

No clue what her religious orientation is. All I know is she visited the campus of BYU and loved it.

To the site administrators. Boardmember continues to open doors for me. This time I AM going to step through. So dont yell at me.

Bwaaaa-hahahaaaa.........

According to her dad, her pitching coach at BYU looked at her and "Loves her mechanics. Said he only saw 2 things that he might try and tweak to see if he can get 1 or 2 more mph out of her". So all in all, I think her Dad and my 'Foundation Method' did pretty darned good.

You're such a dufus Hal.........BYU loves her "SNEAKY SOFTBALL PITCHING TACTICS"?????............PAAAALEASE..........

Her dads statement to me is on my sneakysoftballpitching page.

So you've been giving private lessons for over 25 years? (a guess). And you've finally got a "full ride" student......And you put it on your "signature"?..........Well congratulations on joining the rank and file! And more importantly......Congrats to HER!!!

You don't want a list of my students if that is your benchmark........It would be embarrassing to you Hal.........I certainly woudn't put them in my "signature" on here..........They earn the scholarships, not me......Besides, the list wouldn't fit..........

You might have heard of her new pitching coach, but, maybe not. His name is Pete Meredith. ASA Hall of Famer AND ISC Hall of Famer considered by many to be the best and most successful fastpitch pitcher of all time.

Name dropping to impress me??? Them?? Who??.........

Ok........Here......."Mike White"..........Ever heard of him? He took over the program that one my full ride students played for. She was a sophomore when he came in........Kept her......And her full ride.........

Yeah you are right BM

:), she should never have made it out of rec league.

Not true........If her mechanics were sound........She got out of Rec Ball WITHOUT the "fairy-wave" and "nose-pick" distractions........

And I'll guarantee you the "fairy-wave" etc. isn't what got the attention of the BYU staff..........

You seem to miss the point..........ALWAYS.........

You guys are CRACKIN ME UP!..........STOP!!!.........

Are you kidding me? My guys would bring warm cans of Coke to the game. Warm Coke and sunflower seeds, lethal! Open and chug em down between innings. Sounded like a concert goin on in the infield for 15 minutes or so.

A pitcher consistently gets batters out by changing speeds, good control, good movement and good speed.

IMHO, the stuff Hal suggests might work in TB when you rarely play the same team twice. But, anywhere near the top of the sport, and it is a waste of time.

In college, D1 pitchers are scouted. Any trick they have is documented. Everyone knows what the pitcher throws and her tendencies. In conference play, the pitcher faces the same batters over and over again. If you are "the top dog" on a pitching staff, you are going to see the same batters 8 times over a weekend. And, during the conference championship, you are going to see them again. And, you might see some of the same batters year after year. There are no surprises. So, it is really difficult to get people out with "trick" stuff.

Is this Ashley?

Yes.

Keep in mind, this kid is the needle in the haystack, a true studmuffin, a prodigy, a blessing of nature. etc. She would excel at any sport, using any form, with no sleep, a 202 temp and using her weak hand (if she had one.) My hope is that she's cleaned up her form before she ends up with pain.

I'm calling BS on this one. 32 full ride offers? Come on Hal, 32???? And she chose BYU?

So they ordered your book of tricks and you're sort of claiming this pitcher as one of yours, as though you coached her all this success? And yes, I realize you haven't come out and said this. However, in your back and forth with BM you questioned how many D1 pitchers he had coached... which would imply that you are responsible for this young lady, her 32 offers, and acceptance at BYU.

So, Hal, I don't know if its you who are lying or if "Ashley's dad" lied to you. Perhaps he just embellished. Maybe he meant "we've had 3 or 2 offers"
