I would like to see what Marc D thinks of the swing he's an expert on sports performance.
Folks I am trying to teach the best things to my kids,I understand that each of you have opinions and thats actually great but Im a newcomer to this and i want to do whats right.I see people who seem to have good resumes bickering with people who havent played and who cares? Lets get down and see the truth! Maybe I'm blind but in some of the clips Mark H shows I do see the so called rotational things he talks about,but I also see a press into the front leg that the so called linear people say.Therefor I'm sure I will get lambasted for this but I think you have helped me make a great discovery THANK YOU ALL!

I agree Teacher...rotational, linear, or a combination of both. Which ever is right im not sure but to teach either of them I think some kind of system is needed. Epstien has a system right or wrong. I believe the perfect swing is a combination of both but as with most terminolgy it is up the the person to interperet the movements based on the terms. I can see in the vidoes of the WCWS players and like the swing as well. I think there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site that could provide us with a system for each type of swing. As a coach with limited playing experience I am looking to this site and its members to help me teach the players. I use video analysis and believe I can see some of the problem areas of the players. I like the idea that this site is current and has very active members. Drills to follow to teach each sytem would be very helpful. I have purchased material from various sites but until you receive the instructional products it is hard to tell how good it is.

Day Three Update
Hi Everyone,
I didn't realize when I started this thread that I would be creating a monster. Thanks for everyone's participation, it's awesome.
Day Three went quickly. First thirty minutes was warm up and refresher of previous two day. Then on to hitting stations. Every swing I saw was radically improved from day one. I met parents who had brought their kids from Mississippi, Oregon, Nevada, and California. I was surprised what a national draw this camp was. Some were attending for the second time. Some brought their whole team, some just parts. Everyone was hitting very well. Very impressive results.
The three hours went quickly. The used softoss, hands back trainers, small ball machines, and flat paddle bats to work through the various drills. Video was the last station. My dd was taped and compared to her day one swing. Tremendous improvement. Mike Epstein's son Jake who was one of the instructors was very complimentary of my dd's swing and said it was one of the best fastpitch swings he had seen. Comparing it favorably to those of players much older than her.
I had a moment of being a very proud father today realizing how much my daughter had accomplished through her hard work and dedication.
I felt lucky to be able to express that to her.
Am planning on buying a Juggs machine that pitches the mini-balls and investing in some private lessons with the Epstein's in the near future. I came away from the experience very impressed with the camp because of the knowledge of the instructors and their ability to transmit it to their students.
We'll be receiving the swing analysis video by email in the next day or two which I will then post here. Overall I would say the experience was excellent. I can't wait to see the techniques applied in a game. Rotational hitting has given my daughter more confidence, power, and ability. She has the tools to become a very good hitter that can be dominant. Obviously you can't learn everything in three days time. But you can get a good start and continue to work and learn in the future.

Unable to view the video you referred to. V. Guerrero is has a linear swing because he keeps his body square to contact and his hands & barrel inside the ball approaching contact. He takes a huge hack & he's a bit of a free swinger but he stays inside the ball very well. He's one of the best!
