#1 Arizona State swept Oregon State.

#2 Michigan beat Wisconsin twice. Michigan is good, but they are not the number 2 team in the country. Maybe, perhaps, they are in the top 10, but not #2.

Speaking of teams that don't belong in the top 5--

#3 Texas split with #15 Oklahoma--What a surprise...Texas plays a good team, and they lose. Wow. Who would've thought?

#4 Georgia lost 2 of 3 to #25 Auburn.

#5 Florida swept South Carolina.

#6 Tennessee took 2 of 3 from Mississippi State.

#7 Alabama's games were cancelled. We are all praying for the people of Alabama affected by last week's storms.

#8 UCLA was swept by #10 California--Wow, wow, wow. I knew California was good, but I didn't think UCLA was that bad.

#9 Arizona lost two of three to Oregon--Oregon?? When did they get a team?

#11 Washington dropped 2 of 3 to #13 Stanford.

#12 Missouri took one from Oklahoma State. The second game was rained out.

#14 Nebraska splite with Texas Tech.

CONFERENCES:

In the PAC-10, Arizona State has a 2 game lead over California. Absent a complete meltdown by Arizona State, ASU will win the PAC-10. The PAC-10 does not have a conference tournament. ASU, California, Stanford, Arizona and UCLA will all get bids.

In the SEC-East, Tennessee has a 2 game lead over Florida. Tennessee and Florida play 3 games to end regular season. Alabama leads #21 LSU by 2 games in the West. Alabama should win the West. If Tennesse wins the SEC-East, Tennessee will be the Number 1 seed in the SEC tournament.

Wha what? While I was sleeping...the Big 10 actually has a race for the championship. Indiana has quietly built a one game lead over Michigan. This is a big deal--the Big 10 does not have an end of season tournament. Indiana plays Northwestern and Purdue the next two weekends. So, Indiana has a legitimate shot at winning the Big-10...er Big-11...er Big-12...oh, heck, you know the conference I'm talking about.

Texas now leads Missouri by 1 game in the Big-12 (or Big-14? I can't figure this out). This conference does have an end of season tournament.

In the WAC, Hawai'i swept New Mexico State, giving Boise State the lead in the WAC. I pray that Boise State doesn't play on that awful blue turf they use at the football stadium.

Just to let you know we traveled through some of the areas where the storms hit and it was devastating, one set down next to the highway looked like a king size bulldozer went through the area. It even striped the grass off the ground and looked like a plow had been pulled over the ground. In one area it had blown the guardrails from the interstate and raped them around trees.

I sure wish everyone one in AL, GA TN and anyone who had damage the best!!!!!!!

Hey Sluggers, I hate to nitpick, but I have to correct you on the Vols. We swept Arkansas @ home and outscored them 28 - 2 in the three game series. Miss. St. was last weekend. Please keep the national updates coming! I enjoy getting the top teams scores every week with some commentary. Better than ESPNU with just a crawl!
