Gonna be tough to beat.
Garcia looks great. They were down 1-0 to Oklahoma in the 3rd and put on some small ball.
This may be their year.

It's amazing that their coach has kept her job after not winning a championship in 8 years. She loses Southern California's top recruits every season when she's the only game in town, that alone should have had her fired years ago but not winning a championship 8 years in a row. If she was a man she would have been booted years ago

It seems to me that UCLA does a pretty good job recruiting some very good players pretty consistently, and is a top contender every year. Who cares if they are locals? Staying in town isn't always a draw for players.

Bruins look great. Maybe Faraimo is finally the missing piece where Garcia wont have to do everything by herself. As far as UCLA recruiting Cali kids, theyve had the #1 flosoftball class 2 years running and had the number 3 and number 9 classes before that. I think the failure has been to identify and manage pitching talent (Garcia notwithstanding), especially outside CA (think Elish from IN, Balint from PA, Kleist from WI, Alvelo from OH etc.)

I know it may be hard for you to believe, but not every kid wants to stay close to home when choosing to go to college...

If the top kid's home was Palookaville, Oklatucky and a top university in Southern California offers them free room and board to come play for the school, then a teenaged kid leaves home.
If the top ranked teenaged kid is from Southern California and leaves it to go play at a lower school (academically) in Norgene, Tennebama then someone at the schools in Southern California failed.

Some kids just want to get away from home for various reasons. They may want to just experience a different part of the country or perhaps get away from a father who thinks that the excrement from people
who live in his state smells like ice cream....

Most the people in California suck, just watch 5 mins of the Oscars and you'll see that.

However, if ball is what you're going to school for then the weather in So Cal is the best in the nation for it. Add the nation's best beaches and amusement parks and you have what all teenagers would want.
People's excrement smells the same everywhere you go, would you rather smell it with nice weather and lots of stuff to do or would you rather smell it where there's nothing to do and the weather sucks?
