Does the school the players transfer from get to sign off on whether or not the player can transfer to without penalty like they can in football. For example, if a player at Auburn wants to transfer to say, Alabama, Auburn can not sign off and the player will have to sit out a year. But if that Auburn player decided to transfer to Florida State the school can look at the Seminoles as a non conf team they likely won't play and then sign the waiver so the player doesn't have to sit. The only exception is if the player has already graduated but still has ncaa eligibility he can be a graduate transfer to any school he wants.
If this rule is also in softball, why would organ allow all of these players leave their school and go where the coach just left for without making all of the players slit out a year and lose a years eligibility?

I think that changed this year

Wow. At least they had a few pitchers coming in. It is not Stanford bad. You may recall they had to pitch position players for a season or two because of injuries and transfers after the ill fated Carly Hoover era

WOW.

there must be something really awfully bad about the change in team culture being instated by the new coaching staff.

Balint was setup to be their ACE, with the exits of Kleist & Elish.

Once a top player or two leaves to follow the former coach, I could see it being less about cultural change and more about the whole thing snowballing into negativity. Almost like mourning the loss of close friends from a group.

Imagine that you belong to a very tight-knit and successful team at work that makes good money. A new law just gets passed that disallows any non-compete agreements for employees. Then, the top leader in the team leaves, followed by a couple of the top employees to start a new firm. You got along great with all of them and it makes you sad because not only will the team be weaker and you'll make less money, but you lost good friends. A couple more co-workers leave to the new firm and other competitors leaving you both lonely and fearful that you won't make a good living. You start thinking to yourself, "is it time to jump ship too"?

It's sad all around. Maggie is a great person. I wish her the very best in her new journey.
