If it's going to say "Oregon" across the front of all of their jerseys, then that's where the players should be from.
How about an amendment to title ix, if a school charges an out of state student 3 times as much as they charge an instate student, then an out of state athlete should count as 3 scholarships against their allotment.
All of these out of state players aren't helping O
oregon anyway, that big O on their helmets is the amount of championships they've won.

Following your train of logic, should all Portland State players be from Portland? Notre Dame players required to be Catholic? West Point players have to be veterans?

My first thought was this is crazy. But something must be said about the limited number of local students on a roster. I followed both Oregon and Oregon State last year. Looked like OSU played their California players all the time, and the local grown players played sparingly. If anyone from Oregon has any plans of playing Div 1 softball locally, its Portland State or change your plans. Oregon, and also Washington, do not have the number of in-state options as California; the odds are stacked against Oregon and Washington student athletes. Jane Sanders stadium is packed with little girls who dream of playing there. Too bad that that little girl can be one of the best high schoolers in the state and still get beat out by someone from California, Washington, Utah, Idaho, etc.

It is also very very rare that you see a Texas player on Pac 12 softball roster. Even Shannon Rhodes came back home! I may be a D$cK but when I hear a kid start blabbering about how they want to play softball at whatever west coast team. I just say STOP it already. It ain't gonna happen. Those schools have enough Cali players to choose from in their back yards. Although, I did see Mike Candrea watching one of our games this fall. I guess when Denham transferred last year he realized there are some kids in the Texas area that can play. I am sure he was NOT watching anyone on our team. LOL!

I grew up in Massachusetts. My parents still live there as do most of my relatives. When I got my PhD I applied for a faculty position at MIT. Unfortunately I was beat out by people that were seen as a better option by MIT..many if not most didn't even grow up in the US. That's life. Sometimes dreams are just that..you move on and find a different path which you can make the most out of.

Yet the fact remains that if a Pac 12 coach wants to stay gainfully employed, they will continue to import California (as well as many other states) kids.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. 909 out

Me thinks as soon as someone who grew up in Oregon is old enough to leave they see fit to do so :)

Yes, all Portland state players should be from oregon, all notre dame players should be catholics from indiana and all west point players should be cadets.
