As a parent, from a purely academic standpoint, I am not sure how I would feel about my Senior DD picking up and moving schools just to be able to play softball for one more year in a more "comfy" environment. It would
be one thing if they already graduated and were in grad school, anyway not in their shoes so who knows...

Just a very bizarre situation all around.

White leaves saying Softball disrespected at Oregon. Nevermind the $16M spent on stadium but it sure seems like the Oregon AD was playing fast and loose with White's livelihood the way things were written about UT offer that transpired.

Lombardi comes in and says my way or the highway as you accomplished "jack" over the last 4-5 years.

Thin skinned (?) players say we gone but we'll do it in such a way that appears to screw over the program that has given us so much. I can appreciate Kleist and Mack getting their degrees at the institution of higher learning.

These other 7, meh. When the real world comes a knocking, they may find more difficult people in workplace than Lombardi. Get used to different personality types. It is not all puppy dogs and rainbows. Not every coach/manager/coworker can be your best friend.

I can't begin to understand the level of frustration/angst/depression/etc that these players felt but if the argument about choosing a school is could you see yourself there if the coach left or you could no longer play because of studies or injury or whatever, they seem to have made some misguided choices in going to Oregon to being with.

At the end of the day, it will all work out as it should. Oregon will still have a program. The transfers will play at their new schools, toss their caps in the air and hopefully be happy but man this is just a bad scene unfolding.

The more recent girls are leaving and sitting out the season.

Kleist is graduating from Oregon and doing grad at ULL.

I’m Truggling as to why do many are bagging the players out and not recognising that there is clearly an issue with the coach.

Girls who are leaving have given interviews about how they’ll work through it and then leave. They all could have left at the start of the year and stayed. These last four have left despite knowing they might not get picked up. (Only Kleist has somewhere definite)

THATS how bad and toxic the situation is.

Lombardi was loved by the Sooner Nation. Multiple, and I stress MULTIPLE pitchers/players that played at OU can't say enough good things about her.

However, we are now at #9 who has left Oregon since she arrived.

Are the players being pushed harder than they are used to? OU isn't a top if not the top softball program in the country because they sit around and eat bon bons all day. Is Lombardi pushing them like they do at OU and the girls aren't used to that and don't want to work that hard to be a winner?

Hard to believe Mike White didn't push freakin hard as well so it simply doesn't make sense to me.

The dots just don't connect and I can't wait to find out what the hell is going on........

Enjoy your weekend!
