Where do you go to find out how many scholarships a school offers ? I assume it's public information at a public college or university ?

Are you talking about non-athletic scholarships? Most schools will have that information somewhere on their website on the cost/fees/financial aid pages. Search for Scholarships and Grants, that will usually get you there. A call to admissions or financial aid will also get you that info. Public school vs. private school shouldn't make a difference - they all know how ridiculously expensive college is and most are good about making this info easy to find.

If you are talking about athletic scholarships, call the athletic department. They should be able to tell you if softball is "fully funded" for all allowable athletic scholarships as well as how they manage/combine athletic and merit or need-based $$.
