    Default First pitch in a program: Duke...

    @JAD ....

    Whatever happens from this point out, getting to throw the first live pitch for a new program at a great university in a brand new park. No one else will ever be able to say that.

    That is so, so cool.

    We melted in the 8th, gave up 4 runs and lost 8-3. Played 10 innings.

    DD did not know until 30 min before the game that she was throwing out the first pitch.

    Watched some of 5th through 9th inning. Did not know Huey threw first pitch for Duke - that is awesome! They will work out kinks - don't sweat!! Will they air any more games?

    That was quite typical for Jake while at SC.

    JAD - Congratulations to your daughter for being part of Duke history. I was able to watch the first 4-5 innings on WatchESPN. Obviously, I don't know you or your daughter, but still felt a bit of DFP connection when your daughter took to the circle and threw that first pitch. Wishing her the best of luck at Duke.

    I was right behind her grandma. She has great downward movement on her pitches.

    Probably best she wasn't told she was pitching till late.

    It was a historic moment that our family wouldn't miss. DD was the bat girl. Being in the dugout with college role models was an invaluable experience. Looking forward to watching the program grow and supporting every way we can. 1,300 was an impressive attendance. The complex isn't extravagant but there is room to grow.
