I notice the other night when Rice was playing Louisiana Lafayette on the MLB Network they called them Louisiana. I wonder if they are rebranding?

UL-Laf fans are trying to promote their school as the de facto University of Louisiana campus like in other states' systems (e.g. Cal, NC, TX) and the state legislature has rebuffed their efforts. One of them races to post his edited version on UCS before an unedited one is posted.

FWIW, the official nickname for their athletic teams is the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

Their campus website URL doesn't specify Lafayette. Here is a link to their naming guidelines - Proper Use of the University's Name | University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
