How accurate do you think that verbal list is? I do look at it

There are several not listed that I know of so it's not too accurate. I think it's a team's choice to report that information.

Thank you everyone. Not sure how much I am enjoying the journey so far lol. We are definitely not ruling out D3s. She actually met with a very good d3 coach recently who made it quite obvious he wants her but she doesn't have SAT/ACT scores yet (taking both in Dec) so hard to move forward there. We are going to another D3 this weekend and a two D2s in December. Keeping all doors open. I can't thank you all enough for this place to vent !!!

Never have to worry. I'm sure your DD will be going to college regardless. As far as playing softball in college. 'We' (DD & mom/dad) were giving the chance of playing college softaball until the end of junior year summer 2016 grad. If DD didn't get any offers at the end of this summer. DD was not going to be playing tourney ball her senior year. DD would have just played high school ball. Lucky DD had a few offers and will be playing softball in college(DIII). So, another year of tourney ball.
We used goldfastpitch to keep up with which players were verballed where, and tried to make educated decisions on what positions schools may be looking to fill. It helped us know where to focus our time and efforts. We did not see a reason to attend the camp of a team that already had a player in my DD's position for her graduation year. DD is a pitcher, so it is a little more cut and dry than it would be for a fielder.
Regarding minimum requirements: I found this site to be very helpful: Home - Tier One Athletics
Generally, the Academic Index (a compilation of GPA and test scores) for a recruited athlete can be one standard deviation below the AI of the general student population.
My daughter was recruited by a few of the NESCAC schools; they liked her 30 ACT and 4.3 weighted/3.85 unweighted GPA.
From my experience with the college search process this past summer, I agree with JAD. Some of the programs in the larger schools can be extremely hard to get accepted into. DD is in the process of applying to one of these very competitive programs. I am fairly confident that she will be accepted into another college at this school, but we're all keeping our fingers crossed regarding this one particular program!
If you want to use softball/athletics as a "hook" - I might go the Ivy or NESCAC route (or other small, highly academic schools) since more programs will be open to you.
YMMV by the level of 18U and 18+ in your area. Both are very strong in SoCal and only some top 18U players/teams are allowed to play with the college players. The atmosphere of our women's league is extremely relaxed because they're coming off an intense college season and just want some reps during the summer. Only doing that may not be the best course for some players. Why play "tourney ball" after senior year? At this point it would be 18U with most of the team 1st year trying to catch college coachs' attention at showcase tournaments, been there done that haven,t you. Go 18+, all college players, much more relaxed than 18U and she gets the feel of playing at the new level against college pitchers.
