Call me a dumbass when it comes to softball but don't try to accuse the best team and QB of any wrong doing. We are honest winners.

ESPN broadcasts games for entertainment value in order to generate advertising revenue, and the target audience is far from those typically on this board. As long as it makes for good television and people are talking about it then it will continue.

Good post and I think you understand that there is more going on here than "girls wanting to have some fun". The media controls the message and has been encouraging this type of behavior to promote the tournament, the more outrageous the conduct, the better. It used to be that rally caps/visors were wore in the last inning of a game, now they are worn throughout the game, even in the 1st inning. But that wasn't exciting and provocative enough, so the dugout players started buying crazy masks like comic book characters (Captain America), video game heroes (Mario Bros), horse heads, tea leaves, and gorilla masks. But that didn't get enough attention, so players made outfits and created skits that they would perform during live interviews mocking their head coaches. Where does it stop? If they haven't "jumped the shark" yet, they will soon.

There's still a ways to go as they're not even close to European professional soccer goal celebrations
