Our hitting coach tested DD's eye dominance over the winter. DD is right eye dominant so he opened her stance up when batting RH. Had one of the HS coaches ask DD about her split grip this season, "Do you always split your hands??" It is such a habit for DD, it took her a minute to figure out what she was being asked, lol.. Coach got the

We practice hitting foul balls off on purpose, and I do expect my 3 and 4 hitters to do that.

This is pure vomit

Your time would be better served practicing hitting the ball square, rather than practicing a miss hit on purpose. ... "foul off what you don't like"....that's BS.... know the zone, and hit it where it's pitched. Finding the center of every ball pitched is the chess match between the pitcher and the batter. She should be studying that pitcher and learning from past mistakes. Do your best to pick up the spin early in the release. A foul ball is a strike, who in the hell tells a kid to practice strikes. And then say my 3 and 4 hitters had better......

My 1 through 9 hitters had better give me a quality at bat, every opportunity. It is NEVER a goal to miss hit a pitch. If we swing, it's because she likes it, and is intending to hit a deep line drive.

If you think this is bad, and it is, you should hear some of the commentary from the D-II games.

Anyone notice the inning in the Mizzou - UCLA game where the leadoff hitter hit a fly ball to centerfield on the first pitch and so, the next hitter stepped in with one out. One of the announcers described that young lady as "leading off the inning."

I challenge all of you to do immediate play by play or
Color for every single pitch for an entire game. You can't take a pitch off and you can't let there be more then a second of silence to collect your thoughts on a play before you speak. Oh and you have to say everything in a simple fast and easy for the most casual fan to understand. Do you think you would do better? Believe me the first one to take 3 minutes of air time to explain how the rise ball doesn't rise at all, causing channels to be changed would be fired after game 1

I've done it before but in basketball. One of my buddies was a color man for a local production company that did area games both on radio and local cable. He got sick and asked me if I could fill in. No, it was not easy but you also don't have to talk every second. ... deleted because it just doesn't matter.

The rise ball does not rise. It drops less because of the spin on it....done.
Can I have my announcer job now?!

I do want to say that I think that basketball is a lot easier to do play by play. I talked about switching defenses, offensive sets, what coaches talk about in timeouts, ... That was all easy.
