It's like a train wreck.

Walking in 5 runs?

It was like watching two blind people have a gunfight while each balancing on a tightrope over a pit of hungry alligators.

First JW is senior and every game could be her last. CH is coming back from something, not sure what, that kept her playing sparingly this year. Two others maybe faced a batter or a weak team here or there all year. Not something I would have done, but that is where they were at, and it did not pain me to watch as it is out of my control. CH will probably pitch today. When interviewed even NC S coach said they would ride one pitcher in the game (but they did not). Change is hard. What I think is that parents get embarrassed by bad play because it is their kids so transfer it to what they are watching; it's college and whatever happens, it is all put out there. We just had a HS game like this where we won, and the other ace fell apart. Other coach left her in. Has ride to ACC school. BBs are part of the game today.

The ultimate issue is that HRs have taken the game over and the pitchers have to paint. So there will be walks, gassed or not gassed. It is not about coaching.

So......you leave her in and let her walk 7 hitters, walk in 5 runs, and blow a huge lead in the WCWS Super Regional? NUTS!!!

It was very bad coaching. They should have pulled her a lot sooner. She threw over 200 pitchers and was walking players like crazy. She was gassed and ineffective.

The other bad coaching blunder was the last play of the game. With 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, they did not walk the next batter to set up a force play at home. The batter hits a weak ground ball to second and the winning run scores in a late tag at home. Had it been a force play she would have been out easily. Walking the batter with first base open in that situation is softball 101.

I would need to know more about the batters coming up before I criticize that one, which I do not have the energy to lookup. If you know nothing about the other team, I agree you walk the bases loaded.
