Watching the replay of the UGA vs. Michigan game (not much work getting done today) and just realized that Megan Betsa and Sierra Lawrence are both GA Natives! Bet it is weird for them playing against UGA in the Super Regional.

Maybe. There is a good chance that since both are from the Atlanta area they could have grown up Georgia Tech fans or their families could have been transplants from other areas so they grew up fans of other teams. I know that my kids have grown up big time LSU fans in north Alabama. My DD has even talked about getting a softball scholarship to UA. I told her if she does then I will get some Alabama gear and scream, "Roll Tide" for her on game days and then burn all of that gear the day after she graduates. :)

Stupid ESPN didn't televise here the first inning for Wilkinson but from what I saw it was Betsa who was exploiting a wider-zone plate umpire (bless him). Now Gray was trying to do that but she looked like she was tring to find his zone limits from the outside-in versus Betsa working inside his zone out. (if ya know what I mean). I bet some might say the ump was unfair but I thought he was equal. But I bet ya Betsa is going to meet up with a tight zone-no-riseball-strike umpire before it's all said and done and I wonder how quiet Georgia bats will be that day. To be seen....

To me the classic up-ball pitcher vs down-ball pitcher outcome will be this way every time. Yes a towering homerun every now and then but up-ballers are more effective.

Michigan looks every bit a good as the did last year in game 1 right before they totally choked. Certainly did not see an A game from either team.
