I wanted to give an update. Yesterday, BB tied the hits record but went down with a knee injury. We won't know the extent until today. She was trying to drive an outside pitch the other way when her back knee collapsed. She finished the game and then the next game but when the wife and I left her at 10:00 last night, her knee was really swollen. They have a DH today. Unfortunately, I am going to miss a part of those games.

I wanted to give a "thanks" to Coach Hicks of Bellarmine. BB had run out to 1st for defense and wanted to cry. Coach Hicks came over and talked to her and had her smile and laugh. As parents, my wife and I appreciate the gesture. Today I'm going to be a nervous wreck waiting to see if she is ok and can play.

Would give anything to be able to buy you a beer tonight. I'm just so damn happy for you I can't even stand it. Congratulations my friend. Now tell BB to win a national championship!

Thanks. I'm very proud of her and for how she handled last night. When she got the hit, she waddled to 1st base and the wife and I knew she was still hurting but able to play. I am thankful Coach gave her that opportunity and I think he cares a lot for her. After that game, in game two, she was walked 3 times and on 12 total pitches. So, she didn't have to swing it again. She has a couple of days to recover now and let the swelling go down. BTW, today is BB's 22 Birthday. Tonight, we are attending a ceremony recognizing academic achievements of the student athletes at her school. I just as proud to know that she is being recognized for her academic efforts.

Good for her, being recognized for her academic accomplishments. Unless she is going to be a full-time professional coach, that is more important in the long run.

Of course, this doesn't have to be the end. There are always adult softball leagues. I'm sure SOMEBODY will want her on a team.

Today, the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL) was voted #1 in the country. Unreal. They were voted that after UMSL won the GLVC Tournament for the 3rd straight year. They are also the #1 seed in the Midwest Regional. That regional/sectional is loaded. The #8 seed, Wayne State, has 42 wins and the GLIAC Pitcher of the Year. ?Southern Indiana is Ranked #17 nationally. U of Indy remained at #10 in the nation and so, this regional/sectional could be one of the toughest in the nation.
