Ndsu

Thought I'd give a shout out to our neighbors from the north. Seems like every year North Dakota State puts together a very impressive season. Virtually unknown playing up in Fargo, but they've had some big wins over the past few seasons and they have been a fun team to cheer for and follow. As an example, here's their season schedule so far. Not too bad for a mid major:

I felt kinda bad for them and other teams whose events were canceled due to weather this week.

Nobody will even read this, but North Dakota State beat Washington today 6-5. I'm telling ya, this is a better program than you think.

We played a team in the dome last week who's has a senior going there next year.

Dang...I am just envious of that gorgeous weather!! Blue skies are rare these days...feels like we have transported to Seattle some days.

Their roster is very revealing - only 1 player is from NoDak and 9 of 17 are from the Golden State. "Cal State Univ, NoDak" would be more appropriate...

Looks like UND is following their example. They don't currently have any players from Cal, however 3 of the 4 NLI signees are - including a former rec teammate of my DD.

The state voted to retire UND's "Fighting Sioux" nickname in 2012 to avoid NCAA sanctions and are supposed to select a new one this year. I suggest Undies. Quote from article:

I went to the uni dome classic a couple of week and NDS was by far the most impressive team there. UNI was second.

A lot of faith in NDSU from here in Winnipeg,Canada.I follow them tons not only because the program is top notch,but because this is one of DDs camp colleges she will be attending for the coming years.
