YES! I agree, though I don't really know, but how much does coaching play in a wcws team. Yes, players do probably improve some while at college, but really is there that much more improvement at one top D1 then another top D1? Yes coaching the game might make a little difference.

I think the 2 big aspects of these coaches is 1. Atmosphere/motivation. I know Murphy (a little) and been around the time a bit. It seems like those girls would try to stop a speeding freight train if he needed them too. 2. Recruiting. The best players before college are usually the best players in college. A spread of tv time would probably sway the thoughts a bit of where the best school to go for the best players is...but with the SEC network televising a few 100 games this spring, I don't see opinions changing much.

This was huge consideration for my DD. At their own peril I think some coaches discount how important streaming video and other technologies is to players and families when it comes time to make a decision.

I think the B1G Network is also planning to broadcast a lot of games this Spring. In the next year or two I will be surprised if all major D1 games are not streaming online.

As I watch the WCWS I asked myself this question. I wonder if as long as Az is willing to ride an outdated reputation in softball they will be a 2nd tier program. The SEC, BIG 12 and other PAC 12 programs have put their money in play. Az not so much. They need a new dynamic, a new field and a modern approach. Candrea could take a new role but the entire program needs to change. I am an old dude who first came to AZ in 1968 and have been watching both academics and sports since then. Time to step up Byrne, put your money where your mouth is.........
