When I watch her, I am always hoping for a strikeout so I can see that arm move punching the girl out. I started showing video of her to my little one (she is also short and blond-compared to her amazon brunette sister). You should be very proud, judging by how the team uses her, they have a lot of confidence in her, and she is getting a top notch education to boot. Please mention to her that she is now officially a role model and I am sure I am not the only dad out there that has picked up on the fact that this is a young woman that I want my little one to emulate.
Thank you I will certainly pass that on! Tell your DD not to hesitate contacting her. She loves talking shop with ball players. Some of the best information we ever received was freely passed on from older ballplayers. It's their responsibility to further the sport. If the fire exists, make zero concessions in the name of size. Humility, passion, and perseverance are the keys needed well beyond how big she will be. Adults often set limits based on sweeping generalizations. They don't have to apply to your daughter.
Katie has had a great experience so far and has loved the challenge of being a student athlete. There's no substitute for experience and her situation requires that she learn as she go's rather than sit and watch as many in her position do. it's a masterclass, crash course, and trial by fire all in one and she wouldn't have it any other way.
